Privacy policy

This policy explains how Design Geeks handles personal information. It follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Last updated 22 October 2026.

Who we are

Design Geeks is a design studio for Australian businesses and part of the House of Geeks family. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Design Geeks. This policy applies to personal information collected through designgeeks.com.au and through the enquiries you send us.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our form, we collect your name, your email address, and anything else you choose to tell us, such as your business name, the type of project you need and the details of your brief. We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask that you do not include any in your message.

Like most websites, our servers may keep standard technical logs, such as the page requested, the date and time, and your IP address. We use these to keep the site running and secure.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you, when you submit the enquiry form or when you continue the conversation by reply. We do not buy personal information from third parties.

Why we collect and how we use it

We use the information you send us to reply to your enquiry, to scope and quote work, and to deliver work you ask us to do. We use technical logs to operate and protect the website. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Disclosure to others

We do not share your personal information except where needed to deal with your enquiry or deliver the work you have asked for, or where the law requires it. Your enquiry is passed to our team inbox through our email delivery provider and our hosting provider, who handle information on our behalf. If a project involves a printer or another supplier, we share only what is needed and only with your agreement.

Overseas disclosure

Our hosting and email delivery providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. For example, enquiry emails are sent through SendGrid, which operates internationally. We take reasonable steps to choose providers with appropriate security practices, as required by APP 8.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we have not set up analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does.

Our pages link to other websites, including other brands in the House of Geeks family. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them for the purpose they were sent or as the law requires, and then we delete them or remove identifying details.

Access and correction

You can ask us for the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send your request through the enquiry form and say that it is a privacy request. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we cannot give you access or make a change, we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you think we have breached the Privacy Act or the APPs, tell us through the enquiry form and we will investigate and reply in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
